About us.
We are a veteran-owned and family-run pastured livestock operation seeking to honor God with our lives and the stewardship of our farm.
Our philosophy is simple: fresh air, green grass, and lots of sunshine.
A more detailed background
Clint, who was born and raised in Iowa, met Jill, a proud Floridian native, while both were proudly serving in the armed forces. Over the years, the military took them on many adventures both in the US and abroad. Along the way, they married, had four amazing children, and developed a deep appreciation for the time-honored tradition and symbiotic nature offered by the farming of yesteryear.
While stationed in Virginia, Clint and Jill discovered the innovative practices of the renowned Joel Salatin of PolyFace Farms in the Shenandoah Valley. They spent years carefully studying Salatin’s farm model–which is built upon good, old-fashioned manual labor and creation-honoring stewardship–in order to bring their version of the unique program to the Midwest.
After retiring from the military, Clint and Jill were thrilled to move their family to an old dairy farm they bought in Wesley, Iowa, in 2022.
You can now find them working diligently alongside their children as they transform the defunct dairy into a retail pastured livestock operation while enjoying the pastoral setting rural Iowa has to offer.
